Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve
Description
Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve lies 21km inland from Port Shepstone on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal. The gorge is 5km wide and 400m deep, carved along the Umzimkulwana River. The reserve has many scenic stops along the river which are perfect for secluded picnics, hiking, and a circular drive. Tourists are guaranteed to see some of the 500 species of trees which live in this forest, but luckier spectators may witness bushbuck, common reedbuck, oribi, blue and grey duiker, duikers, samango monkeys or even leopard. There are more than 250 species of birds in the reserve.
