A bit disappointing. For R2000 a night to hire a cottage we expected something a little less rustic. It had no welcoming touches whatsoever - we had to ask for the complimentary tea and coffee to be refreshed, there were no tissues in the room, there was no soap dish in the bathroom, no mosquito repellent (but there were plenty of mosquitoes!), the floors were dirty/dusty and the blankets were musty. It was as though the cottages were a neglected part of De Leeuwenhof's general offering. It's a pretty place and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Perhaps the individual rooms are a better bet, but on the basis of our experience, I cannot recommend hiring one of the cottages.
