Good location, clean rooms, hot showers, well-equipped and a friendly owner. Greyton Eco Lodge surpassed my expectations. I have stayed in backpacker-type places before and know that some are not great. I even took my own linen and pillows! But what a pleasant surprise was in store! The lodge was clean (the showers are old, it's not dirt) and my twin room was sunny with great views and clean white linen. The kitchen was possibly the most equipped kitchen I have ever experienced at a backpackers. Janet was lovely and very helpful. We could walk to the town and enjoyed a walk to the waterfall. Horses graze on the grounds and there were a few resident felines too. Greyton Eco Lodge is definitely recommended by me and my friends.

Basic but homely. Very comfortable 'backpackers'. Janet and staff were available for any queries. Just need to refurbish the one bathroom near the twin rooms on the 1st floor. The shower appears dirty because the grouting is discoloured. Just redo the tiling or regrout and it will look cleaner. Same for the hand basin in the bathroom; it is discoloured. It is time to upgrade.

Hi Adele, Thank you for your review. There is nothing more that I would like to do than refurbish and upgrade many aspects of this building. It is a government building and we rent it from the primary school next door. They are a no-fee school and do not have the funds to maintain their building. We do our best, step by step as budget allows, as we keep our prices in line with backpackers and what guests can expect for what they pay. We also provide affordable accommodation in Greyton. We scrub and clean as best we can. This building is over 60 years old now and has been well used. Kind regards, Janet
