Description
Kingfisher is situated on a 175-hectare farm known as Riversong Farm, nestled along the tranquil and picturesque banks of the Goukou River. This river meanders down to the Indian Ocean, approximately 13 km away, where it converges with the traditional and highly popular seaside village of Stilbaai, celebrated for its Blue Flag status beaches and exceptional surfing conditions.
The farmhouse, accommodating up to 8 guests, offers spaciousness with its high ceilings and original wooden floors throughout, offering stunning views of the river and surrounding farm. It comprises 3 bedrooms, a vast open-plan fully furnished kitchen, dining room, and lounge area with modern appliances and a grand fireplace. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has a double bed and a bunk bed, while the third bedroom has a queen-size bed. Additionally, there is another separate full bathroom and an extra toilet.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, a stove, an oven, a toaster, a microwave, and cutlery and crockery. The house is equipped with a scullery containing a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, chest freezer, and ironing area. A sprawling covered patio with a built-in braai provides a perfect vantage point overlooking the river.
Surrounded by extensive hiking and mountain biking trails, Riversong Farm spans 5 km, traversing valleys, hills, and scenic freshwater dams, adorned with caves featuring authentic Bushman paintings, and culminating in the backlands of fynbos, proteas, and thatch.
The farm is home to beloved resident dogs, cats, sheep, a horse, and rescued donkeys. Complimentary braai wood is provided, and guests have access to a canoe, as well as a boat equipped with a 25-horsepower engine and 2 stand-up paddle boards available for hire. Whether guests opt for boating excursions into the village, swimming, waterskiing, or sunset cruises, a jetty and slipway are conveniently available for launching activities. The tidal dynamics of the expansive Goukou estuary ensure consistently deep, clean, and safe water conditions throughout the year.
