Description

Makhato Lodge 120 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.

Lodge 120 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first and second bedrooms are separate and detached from the main house ensuring privacy, and each contain a queen-size bed, a ceiling fan, an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, a toilet, twin washbasins, and an outdoor shower. The third bedroom is located in the main house and contains 2 single beds. This room has use of a separate bathroom with a bath, a toilet and a washbasin.

The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, and toaster. The cosy lounge area contains a fireplace and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. Outside there is a patio with a built-in braai, where you can enjoy a sunset cocktail. There is also a boma with a firepit, to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the bushveld.

Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
