83 Dassen Island offers charming self-catering accommodation with sea views in the small harbour town of Yzerfontein. Nestled against a hill, overlooking Dassen Island, it is conveniently located just 150 m from the sea. Table Mountain can be spotted on a clear day, and whale-watching can be enjoyed during spring. The accommodation is on the same premises as the owner's private house yet it has a private entrance.
Accommodation is offered in 2 bedrooms and accommodates 4 guests. The main bedroom contains a double bed and offers sea views. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds, and the bathroom contains a shower. The living room is equipped with a DStv and a DVD player. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering and contains a fridge, microwave, oven, and stove.
The main bedroom and living room lead out onto an outdoor patio which offers sea views and is equipped with an outdoor table and chairs, and an umbrella. This is the ideal spot to watch the fishing boats going out to Dassen Island or to watch the sunset. Guests have access to braai facilities in the private backyard, where seating is provided.
Yzerfontein is situated on the picturesque west coast of South Africa, about 80 km from Cape Town. The coastal village boasts beautiful beaches, seasonal wildflowers, and renowned fishing opportunities. Dassen Island is located about 10 km offshore and offers abundant birdlife and photographic scenery. A variety of hiking trails are on offer, such as the Darling Stagger, Elandsfontein Private Reserve, Grotto Bay Coastal Nature Reserve, and Tienie Versveld Reserve. West Coast National Park is 20 km away, where wildlife such as eland, bontebok, springbok, steenbok, kudu, duiker, Cape mountain zebra, caracal, African wild cat, and the bat-eared fox can be seen. Other activities in Yzerfontein include wine tasting along the Darling Wine Route, and shell collecting along Pearl Bay.
Please note: The unit can take a maximum of 4 people, either 2 adults and 2 children older than the age of 4 years. Or 4 adults. It is also not suitable for men's, ladies', or recognition/awards weekends.
