Agterplaas is Afrikaans artists' Jannie du Toit and Lochner de Kock's own piece of pride in the heart of Johannesburg. The Guest House is on a very quiet street and overlooks the historical Melville Koppies Nature Reserve. The view, tranquillity and bird life easily lull visitors into forgetting that they are in South Africa's busiest city.
The accommodation offers 14 en-suite rooms which can be configured as singles, doubles or twins. All units have fans, heaters, a dish TV-bouquet, a bar fridge and tea- and coffee- making facilities. Safe parking is available at no extra cost, and we provide free broadband WiFi internet access.
We serve a variety of breakfasts, in our large dining room with authentic Oregon Pine flooring and pressed steel ceilings. On request, we will make you delicious dinners at affordable prices.
Airport transfers are available at competitive prices.
The attractions of the Melville's “7de Laan" boutiques, bookshops, coffee bars and nightclubs are just a stone's throw away. We are centrally situated, approximately 3 kilometres from the University of Johannesburg and 7 km from Wits, the SABC and Media Park, and 5 km from Milpark Hospital as well as Garden City and Helen Joseph.
