Centrally situated in the picturesque town of Somerset East (KwaNojoli), the Angler & Antelope is always a pleasant surprise to guests, not expecting to find such a gem in a small rural town. With just the right amount of attention from your hosts, you will feel at home in this beautiful guest house. The guest house has solar panels and inverters that kick in in the event of load shedding.
The Angler & Antelope caters to almost everyone from value-for-money self-catering accommodation for families to affordable business rooms for company representatives to luxurious rooms with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and TVs with selected DStv channels. The guesthouse is also on solar power, so loadshedding is a thing of the past! Outside self-catering units still experience some loadshedding, but do have solar lights. Guests can also enjoy a scrumptious home-cooked meal in the century old Roman Catholic church, and sample the Whisky collection of over 60 malts.
Somerset East (KwaNojoli) is a gem on the edge of the Karoo, with 4 biomes within 20 kilometres of the town; Karoo, savannah, grassveldt and indigenous forests. The microclimate induced by the Boschberg Mountain ensures that an unusual amount, for the Karoo anyway, of rain falls annually. This is great for fly-fishing enthusiasts, as it makes Somerset East (KwaNojoli) an exceptionally good fishing spot for trout. Fishermen will find a well-stocked fly fishing shop in the old confessional, and ample local knowledge from our REFFIS accredited fly fishing guide, Alan Hobson.
