Second time just as special as before. Unbelievably nice visit with a lot of tranquility. Just didn't have enough wood, but luckily the town is close enough. Will definitely recommend.

Silence and no WiFi was nice. Very quiet and peaceful. Clean linen. Solar power works well while the sun is shining. Gas geysers work well. Ideal to switch off a bit. Watch out for mud, we got stuck. There was an alternative route.

Good for a getaway if you fancy no catching up and getting quiet. Solar panel with battery is suitable for lights and small fridge in the accommodation as well as recharging mobile phones. Google pin location does take a short cut between the wheat fields and then the map misses the road, better to keep on the main dirt road until the sign indicates Aprekkooskos turn left through the gate. Water pressure in the shower is very low, but gas geyser provides nice hot water.

Perfect for a peaceful getaway! We have been to Appelkooskop Cottage more than once. There is no cell phone reception (that's great!) and it's very peaceful, quiet, and private. The place is very nicely decorated!

Break away Turn off Heaven on earth. The far-away-from-it-all feeling that is just needed to switch off can be found here. Not a light or road in sight. Beautifully furnished with everything and more necessities available, and the small detail that does not go unnoticed. Communication before and during was great. Although luckily there is no cell phone reception (big win!). Definitely want to relax there again one day.

Perfect place to switch off! The cottage was the perfect place to switch off. It's great that there was no signal (there is catchment a short distance from the house if you need it). Although there is no electricity, the solar panels were enough to recharge phones. There is also a nice gas stove and hot water to shower with (the pressure is just a little low). I usually get cold easily, but this was not a problem at all, the bedding was nice and warm and there were also hot water bottles available. It was lovely to have the field around you and just to hear the sheep, birds and frogs. The braai place is also excellent. We will want to go there again!

Breathtaking getaway. Perfect getaway destination. Didn't see a single bit of civilization for three days and enjoyed a lovely long weekend in nature. House is very neat and even better equipped than I expected. Would definitely recommend.
