Description
Appelkooskop Cottage is a quaint stone cottage for 4 - 6 people and sits by itself in a valley, offering total seclusion, and old-time character not far off the R319 between Swellendam and Bredasdorp. Built and decorated with rustic stonework and raw plastered walls, as well as antique bits and pieces gathered over the years.
The cosy cottage comprises 2 bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom is located in the loft and is furnished with a double bed and two twin beds, making the cottage ideal for a small family with children. For convenience, all linen and towels are provided.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a gas stove, as well as a fireplace, and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table. The cottage also has a cosy sitting room. There's no electricity supply to the unit so you can enjoy the romance of candles.
The living area opens onto the covered verandah which has a built-in braai area and overlooks the beautiful surrounds. Firewood, a braai-grid and fire starters are provided. Cellphone reception is not available in the cottage, but one can find it a few metres from the cottage.
Guests can go for long walks, mountain biking, and enjoy sundowners at a nearby lookout point which offers a 360-degree view of the Overberg. For those who want to explore, Bredasdorp, Malgas, and the De Hoop Nature Reserve, are all within a 50 km drive for outings.
