Description
Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse is an exclusive guesthouse that offers full board and self-catering accommodation; and is located on a working sheep and wheat farm at the Elandsberg Nature Reserve, in the Riebeek Valley, 25 minutes' drive from Riebeek Kasteel.
There are 4 double rooms with private bathrooms in the well-furnished farmhouse, and 2 separate suites outside, each with its own secluded verandah looking over the veld and up to the mountains. These rooms are furnished with either twin beds or a king-size bed; fitted with crisp cotton bedding and elegant fabrics. Complimentary toiletries are available in the Victorian-style bathrooms.
Wild Olive House is a child-friendly house that consists of 3 bedrooms and an adjoining cottage, which can accommodate 6 adults and 2 children. The Heron House consists of 5 bedrooms and can accommodate 10 adults and 2 kids. Each house has a well-equipped kitchen, a private garden, swimming pool, large shady verandah, and outdoor braai facilities.
Breakfast and other meals are made from local produce, and is served in the restaurant on-site named The Conservatory, is full of morning sunshine at breakfast time, and at night, soft candlelight makes a romantic atmosphere for diners enjoying the gourmet evening meal. High tea, with its delicious array of sweet and savoury choices, is a speciality of the farmhouse.
The restaurant is open for lunch, with a weekly changing 3-course set menu with welcome drinks and tea or coffee. The farm also offers a range of activities, as well as in the surrounding Cape Winelands and West Coast area. The guest house is ideal for discerning travellers, who will appreciate the peace and quiet.
