Even better than the photos. You know when you find somewhere really special? You're scared to share it in case it becomes too popular and you can't book again! Beach Retreat is one of those places. It is as beautiful as it looks in the photos, but only when you arrive can you truly appreciate the extras - the sophisticated decor, gorgeous bed linen, generous fluffy towels, bottles of potions and lotions in the two bathrooms, and coffee pods in place for your morning brew. Open some drawers and there are thoughtful touches - a sewing kit, scales to weigh your suitcase, plug adapters, and charging cables. A toothbrush in case you have forgotten your own. We are two females who were travelling alone (we left our husbands at home!) and we particularly appreciated the security of our underground private parking space. The WiFi was 5-star. And should there be an episode of load-shedding, the generator kicks in ensuring no interruptions. The location of Beach Retreat is perfect. Spectacular Strand beach is literally on the doorstep and restaurants are a stroll away. Immediately below you can enjoy Belgian waffles and we liked dinner at Ben's and long lunches at De Brasserie. There! I've shared the secret. I hope I don't regret it and that there is availability for me to book again next year.

Enjoyable. Everything and more was available for us, we hardly had to get anything small or out of the ordinary as it was all already thought of. We did a lot of travelling so were in and out most of the time, but the place was nice and central for all our needs. Easy to get in and out of and very safe, close to many reasonably priced restaurants and street food vendors.
