Description
Bitou River Lodge is located in Plettenberg Bay, a seaside town on the Garden Route. Plettenberg Bay is a well-known adventure and activities playground, offering a wide range of attractions and activities, some of which include skydiving, whale-watching, surfing, kayaking, deep-sea fishing, bungy jumping, and many more. It is a perfect destination for travellers needing a break from city life.
All the bedrooms boast stunning views over the garden and towards the river. Each room has its own entrance and en-suite bathroom and features underfloor heating as well as a fan. The rooms also have a TV and a kitchenette equipped with a bar fridge, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, and crockery and cutlery. Each room also has its own braai facilities, which can be moved to the garden or next to the river.
The guest lounge and breakfast room have fireplaces as well as underfloor heating for those early mornings and wintry evenings. In summer, the sliding doors remain open, allowing the scent of honeysuckle to mingle with the aroma of breakfast coffee. Secure parking and free Wi-Fi are also available.
Canoes are freely available to guests, offering a unique way to observe the birdlife. Turtles and otters can also be spotted in the river by the fortunate few. There’s an eco-stroll around the farm, with indigenous trees marked for identification, and a variety of birds to be seen—from the elegant blue crane to the tiny waxbill; from the Knysna turaco to the African hoopoe.
