Earthly, heavenly paradise, raw and real! Never experienced anything like this! Unbelievable! No words can describe the experience!

A mind-blowing experience that we wouldn't trade for any other travel experience. The mud house on Bloukrans is even more isolated than we could have ever guessed. Perfectly furnished inside, warm bedding against the winter cold, hot water, gas stove, plenty of pots, pans, coffee kettle. Solar light and candles. Karoo books. Blissful sofa and braai facilities at the back, peaceful geckos against the window frame, at night the sound of large wings (an owl?) on the roof. Franci brings oxtail, lamb chops, fat cakes (and maybe Malawian Elizabeth's wonderful samosas) to order. Don't even think about cooking dinner yourself. Outside: at night the starry sky, windmills, the Buffelsrivier for which you gain great respect. Absolute silence, rugged ridges, the field that began to awaken during our stay. Without signal, WiFi, city noises, crime, shops, television and freed from your daily routine, you enter an unforgettable, life-enriching space warp. A few comments: 1) A utility vehicle with a high body and all-terrain tires can easily handle the rocky dirt road to Bloukrans. After good rain, a four-wheel drive vehicle can cross the river along the road. Otherwise, as in our case, Franci lets you load your luggage onto her van. You leave your vehicle there and she takes you to the Mud House. 2) Radio reception is excellent. Consider bringing a little one along. 3) An LED light or two is handy. 4) Pack hats and a camera!

Peaceful, beautiful, soulful. We were so surprised with the Mud House, very tastefully decorated and everything you need. There is no mobile phone reception (there is a place you can find if you drive up the mountain) and this makes you really rest and find yourself again. It's a real farm with donkeys and springboks and all. We walked some distance in the river, it's beautiful and also saw a kudu running up the ridge. The scenery is so special with all the ridges of Karoo vegetation and the most beautiful stones and rocks, an "extreme mountain biking" and walking paradise. If you want to find yourself in the hustle and bustle of city life this is the place to go and it's not too far at all!

Caroozen. Stone yard visits. Every moment of the visit surprised us. Sammy picked us up outside town and took us to the farm. The ride itself is an adventure. The fireplace was burning when we arrived. The stone house was stylishly and neatly furnished. Ella's farm bread was waiting for us. Franci's dinner at home was a feast. We walked carefree during the day and hung out under the starry sky at night. This earthly karoo experience is highly recommended - especially if you want to get back in touch with yourself and nature.

Rest for your soul and a hollow for your foot. What a wonderful experience it was to spend the night in the beautifully styled mud house in the Moordenaarskaroo. Personal attention was given to the finest details, including the provision of walking sticks, barbecue supplies and delicious biscuits etc. The nature is breathtakingly beautiful. Franci was very helpful and hospitable.
