Description
Lawrenny @ Blue Crane Farm is an exceptional fly-fishing destination with two beautifully meticulous and well-stocked trout dams. The larger dam is an impressive 9 hectares in size and has several jetties to make your fly-fishing experience an even more enjoyable one.
Ideal for a couple, the quaint cottage comprises 1 bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and the en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, washbasin and a toilet. Quality linen and bath towels are provided.
The open-plan living area features a kitchen fully equipped with a gas stove, electric oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, cutlery and crockery as well as tea-and-coffee-making facilities. Leading from this kitchen is a dining table where guests can enjoy their meals together. The lounge has comfy seating, a fireplace and a TV with DStv.
This living area opens onto a private patio with an outdoor dining table and a built-in braai which is the perfect spot for guests to unwind and overlook the dam.
This charming venue offers natural scenery with free-roaming game species such as fallow deer, springbok, blesbok, zebra, hartebeest, and vaal rhebok. The birdlife is remarkable with several endangered species such as the Blue Crane and Crowned Cranes that nest on the farm regularly. For larger groups, this farm has 7 other cottages that guests can book.
Blue Crane Farm is approximately 17 km from Dullstroom and 20 km from Belfast which offers various shops, restaurants, and attractions. The farm is accessed by a gravel road and is suitable for vehicles with a low- or high clearance.
