Situated on a farm 13 km from the N12 near Strydenburg, Britskraal Gasteplaas offers luxury off-grid self-catering accommodation for a group or family of 10 people.
Accommodation is offered in 2 self-catering units named Main house and New Wool Store.
The main house is spacious and comprises 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a lounge and an indoor dining area. One of the rooms contains a king-size bed and a second a queen-size bed, sharing the use of a bathroom with a shower and a bath. The third bedroom contains a double bed and has a shower en suite. The fourth bedroom contains a double bed, while the fifth bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds. The 2 rooms share the use of a bathroom with a bath and a shower. The kitchen has a traditional AGA coal stove is available for use at an additional cost, and is equipped with a microwave, a fridge, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. Meals and dishes can be arranged on request at an additional cost and coffee, tea, sugar, milk and rusks are provided.
Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table overlooking the farm, and guests can relax in the lounge in front of the cosy fireplace. The accommodation is not equipped with a TV or Wi-Fi access, and the living area has stackable doors that open onto the garden and surroundings.
The Wool Store has been converted into a luxury unit for 2 guests. It is an open-plan unit comprising a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, toilet and washbasin. The kitchen has a fridge, air fryer and two-plate gas stove for guests to prepare meals. The dining room, lounge and indoor braai are also part of the open plan area.
Note that the guest house is located near the barns and that farming activities take place nearby.
Guests will see Merino sheep and experience farm life, and activities such as hiking, mountain bike riding, horse riding, and even donkey cart trips can be enjoyed.
