Buffelshoek is a farm with unique wildlife and a rich history, perfectly situated just 20 km outside the town Nxuba (Cradock); far enough to give secluded privacy and quietness and near enough to quickly get something in town. The farm is surrounded by a mountain range that forms part of the Mountain Zebra National Park that is to the northwest of the Buffelshoek Farm.
Accommodation at Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge is provided in a variety of rooms and units. All are tastefully decorated and are furnished with either a queen-size, a double and or single beds. Most of the units or rooms have access to Wi-Fi connection.
The main lodge, which is the original farmhouse, comprises of 6 rooms with bird names, each featuring their own bathroom and a communal lounge with a fireplace. The springbok units are 3 separate rooms, each with their own patio and outside braai stand that forms part of 1 building. The groot wild camp comprises 6 rooms that are furnished with double and single beds.
There are 6 free-standing, family units. These units boast 2 bedrooms, a kitchenette, en-suite bathroom, TV with selected DStv channels, air-conditioning and inside as well as an outside braai. Each unit has its own unique view of the surrounding farm and mountains.
Buffelshoek offers accommodations for the day-to-day traveller that require accommodation in Nxuba (Cradock), the business owner planning a conference, a game enthusiast who enjoys nature or the bride that wants to have her wedding surrounded by the beauty of the mountains. The lodge also has a rich and unique history that is studied by historians locally and even internationally.
The lodge offers a wedding venue that includes a chapel, a garden, a kitchen and catering facilities. Game drives and a visit to Olive Schreiner's grave can be arranged.
