Chestnut Cottage is a beautiful self-catering house in the Elephant Rock Eco Estate, on the bank of the Olifants River and Makhutswi River. The estate is located between well-known nature reserves like the Kruger National Park, Balule, Timbavati and Klaserie, and is a perfect stay for those looking for a serene escape into nature.
This Lowveld cottage offers accommodation for 4 guests in 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, a ceiling fan and an air-conditioner. The room has an en-suite bathroom that is fitted with a bath, shower, double basins, an outdoor shower and a toilet. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, ceiling fan and air-conditioning. The second bathroom is fitted with a walk-in shower, basin and toilet. All linen, towels and toiletries are supplied.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, oven, microwave, cutlery and crockery, a kettle for the gas stove, a dishwasher, and eco-friendly cleaning supplies. The living area is furnished with a big comfortable couch, a TV with full DStv, ceiling fan and an air-conditioner. The open-plan living area and kitchen opens up to a covered patio overlooking the bush. The patio is furnished with a dining table, a seating area, a built-in braai and a swimming pool.
Chestnut Cottage has solar power to power the house during power outages. Guests can enjoy safe nature walks, bike riding and catch-and-release fishing at the nearby dam. The estate is approximately 30 km from Hoedspruit and 50 km from the Phalaborwa gate to the Kruger National Park.
