Crags Cottage offers secure self-catering accommodation in the peaceful surroundings of the Kamberg Valley in the picturesque Natal Midlands. The delightful cottage offers views over rolling hills, the Spring Grove Dam, and a glimpse of Giant’s Castle. The property borders the Spring Gove dam. Comfortable accommodation is offered in 2 en-suite bedrooms. The main bedroom contains a double bed, and the second bedroom contains a single bed and an overhead bunk bed. The cottage comprises a kitchen equipped for self-catering,(Washing machine, stove, fridge, microwave) a separate dining room, and a living room with a TV, a fireplace and a daybed, which can accommodate an additional guest. A spacious outdoor verandah is the ideal spot to soak up the views, and guests are urged to bring a camera and binoculars. A Carport is provided, as well as portable braai facilities. Birding and photographic opportunities.
Crags Cottage is off the grid so guests will not be inconvenienced by load shedding or the regular power cuts which hound the area during and after storms. The newly established Vaalekop Ecotrail, starting below the property, is a circular 4km walk down to the dam and along its edge than back along the local road, A must for those who can manage a few steep places.
Bird watching, fly fishing, bass fishing, and the Midlands Meander are popular attractions in the area, as well as Giant’s Castle, Kamberg Nature Reserve, Highmoor Nature Reserve, and Weenen Nature Reserve. Several golf courses, craft shops, and restaurants are also located nearby.
