Built over 101 years ago, the family-owned De Hoekhuys is a spacious self-catering house for 8 to 10 people in Caledon.
Ideal for families or friends, the house has its original wooden floors, and high ceilings, and comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a dining room. Two of the bedrooms each contain a double bed and a children’s bed, and the other bedroom has 2 single beds. There is also a bunk bed in one of the double bed bedrooms. The bathrooms are fitted with baths, showers, and toilets.
The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, a stove and oven, a fridge, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities, and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table in the dining room. There is also a TV with streaming capabilities. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Guests can relax on the front stoep, and braai facilities are available on the back stoep. Parking is available for 2 to 3 vehicles next to the house. No smoking is permitted inside the house, and unfortunately, pets cannot be accommodated.
Caledon offers a variety of attractions such as the Caledon Museum, the hot springs, the Venster Kloof Nature Garden which offers an abundance of indigenous wildflowers and the Caledon Wildflower Trail. Guests can go hiking to view the fynbos, birdlife and indigenous trees.
