Die Anker is ideally located in Gouritsmond and boasts panoramic views of the bay, the beach, and the estuary. Gouritsmond is a small town at the mouth of the Gourits River, located between Mossel Bay and Still Bay, on the scenic Garden Route.
Accommodation at Die Anker is provided in 2 self-catering units called Sinker and Garden Flat. Each unit features a fully equipped kitchen and lounge with a TV, as well as a private deck with braai facilities.
Sinker comprises 2 bedrooms and can accommodate 5 guests. The first bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has 3 single beds. The guest bathroom has a shower.
Garden Flat is furnished with a double bed and 2 single beds. Privacy is given by a room divider. The separate bathroom is fitted with a shower and basin.
All bedding and towels are provided. Undercover parking is available for guests.
Gouritsmond has its own supermarket, restaurant, library, church, ATM, tidal pool, laundry, medical services, and petrol station. The beach is ideal for swimming, surfing, building sandcastles, or strolling to the river mouth. For nature lovers, the endangered black oystercatcher, plovers, and several species of fynbos can be seen here. Gouritsmond is also known as a good spot for fishing and there is a slipway granting access to the river for boats. The coastline offers plenty of places for shore fishing.
