Die Kloof is a carefully restored historic building with 1 foot-thick walls, a thatch roof and traditional stable-doors; and is located on Koelfontein, a working fruit farm, situated near Prince Alfred's Hamlet. The farm has won a myriad of awards for it’s fresh- and dried fruit, as well as their wines, and now offers you the chance to come and experience the luxury of farm life in this exquisite part of the Western Cape. A wonderful self-catering retreat from the rush of city life for family or friends.

Guests staying at Die Kloof are welcomed into a self-catering cottage that accommodates up to 6 guests. The cottage comprises a fully-equipped farm kitchen, including a functional hearth fireplace and all the modern conveniences of luxurious, contemporary farm life. The 3 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and 2 with 2 single beds, lounge and kitchen is furnished with antique farm-style furniture and luxurious linen with soft furnishings.

The antique ball-and-claw bath complements the luxury of the cottage and a sheltered outdoor shower allows visitors to take in the fresh air. The lounge presents a free-standing fireplace for chilly evenings and the patio boasts an 8-seater table for mealtimes under the trees. The outside area also features an outdoor lounge area for long, leisurely evenings around the braai and the total indulgence of a wood-fired hot tub for warm night-time star-gazing or cool summers day dipping.

Due to the fact that this is a historic building that has been preserved as far as possible, the main double bedroom is accessible only through 1 of the twin bedrooms, and the second twin bedroom has patio access only. The bathroom is separate and accessible from anywhere in the cottage.

Beautiful old oak trees line the patio and outside fire-place which boasts magnificent views down the kloof and across the farm and valley toward the town of Ceres and the Hex River mountains in the distance.
