Description
Steynskraal Gasteplaas is nestled on a farm near Beaufort West, in the heart of the Karoo region. This historic eco-tourism stop is the oldest and largest town in the Great Karoo region, offering a collection of Stone Age sites, rock art, dinosaur fossils, and a variety of architectural influences. The accommodation is completely off the grid which means that guests can sit back and relax with absolutely no power cuts.
Die Skooltjie is a quaint 1-bedroom cottage that accommodates 2 adults and 1 child. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed while the lounge has a daybed for children. The bathroom is fitted with a shower.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped a Dover stove, bar fridge, gas stove, microwave and basic cooking utensils. The patio features a braai area with lovely views of the farm. On-site parking is provided.
Die Stal is a 2-bedroom cottage that sleeps 4 adults. Both of the bedrooms have a queen-size bed. Both rooms have an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and toilet, and the main en-suite also has a bath.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a Dover stove, small fridge, gas stove, microwave oven and basic cooking utensils. The stoep has a braai area with a lovely view of the farm. Parking is provided on-site.
Guests can visit the nearby Karoo National Park which is home to a variety of indigenous buck and birds and is a sanctuary for the highly endangered black rhino and riverine rabbit. Activities to enjoy in the area include hiking, 4x4 trails, game viewing, and historical tours.
