Description
Doringbos Lodge is a jewel of a yard with abundant wildlife, neatly wedged between the ledges among the hills on the outskirts of Parys. Hills, chasms, valleys and woods form a mosaic of natural wonder created more than 2000 million years ago when the biggest, oldest meteorite in history crashed into the earth. The breathtaking ring around the crater is visible at dusk from the lookout at the top of Langrant.
Accommodation comprises 6 double-storey, self-catering chalets, surrounded by natural vegetation that forms a private niche for weary city dwellers. Each unit sleeps between 2 to 8 guests and it includes 2 bathrooms per chalet, of which one is an en-suite bathroom with the exception of the honeymoon suite. All chalets have gas heaters, TV with DStv channels, a safe and an alarm system. Each chalet also has its own braai facilities.
Solar energy is the main source of electricity and our contribution to a more sustainable future. There are a heated splash pool and boma on the premises.
At Doringbos Lodge this guest farm is ideally suited for eco-tourism, photography and game viewing. A veritable paradise for bird watching enthusiasts, hikers and mountain bikers. The farm is enclosed by a modern, electrified game fence to contain more than 15 species of wildlife.
