Douglas House is located on the Matjiesvlei Guest Farm, offering an authentic Karoo stay dating back to the 1800s imbued with family history documented by the current owner. This is the ideal choice for guests who wish to break away from city life through a humble and nostalgic experience.
This house can accommodate 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first 2 bedrooms are each furnished with a double bed, while the third bedroom has 2 single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a bath, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The unit has a kitchenette equipped with fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It featjres a dining table with chairs and a cosy indoor braai area.
It opens up to a lovely patio with outdoor seating, and has outdoor braai facilities. Guests are afforded secure parking on the premises.
For an immersive experience with nature, the Damrivierkamp is situated on the picturesque shores of the Gamka River. It's an angler's paradise, offering a wide variety of fish species, including yellowfish, black bass, eel, and carp. There are also fantastic waterholes perfect for swimming and rowing. Guests can also experience the Bôjaankop 4x4 route which takes you to the top of Bôjaankop, from where you can enjoy stunning views of the Little Karoo.
