Drakenzicht Main House & Cottage is a self-catering house nestled in the stunning natural beauty of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Mountains which is a designated World Heritage Site adding to the remarkable natural and cultural value of the area. Situated on 50 acres of picturesque land, the cottage offers an unparalleled view that is sure to leave a lasting impression. Guests will have the privilege of being surrounded by this awe-inspiring landscape, which is known for its majestic peaks, lush valleys, and diverse flora and fauna.
There are 2 options for guests to choose from namely the Main House and the Cottage.
The main house can accommodate 9 guests and comprises 4 tastefully furnished bedrooms with air-conditioning, 3 en-suite bathrooms, and 2 separate bathrooms. The kitchen, dining, and living area are spacious, with high ceilings and large glass windows to enjoy the beautiful views. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and the lounge expands to a covered verandah providing both an entertainment and a relaxation space for guests. With braai facilities on the verandah and on the outskirts of the elevated property, guests are spoiled with multiple options for outdoor entertaining and appreciating the picturesque surroundings. The patio serves as the perfect area that can be utilized throughout the day, whether it's for a leisurely breakfast, a cosy evening dinner, or simply unwinding while admiring the scenery.
This cottage can accommodate 4 persons and comprises 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen with easy access to the adjacent open deck and overlooks the indigenous forest. The living and dining area is cooled by air-conditioning and open sliding doors in summer and a gas heater in winter. The open-plan living area leads out onto the deck, which has a braai facility and seating for 4.
The luscious lawn offers a lovely picnic space with ample space for children to run around. It has huge trees providing a lovely canopy for lazy afternoons, and the garden supplies a variety of flower and bird life during the year. The property is situated approximately a few km from the Champagne Sports Resort in Cathkin Park, and a drive from other attractions in the area.
