Description
Earl's Nest Guest Farm is situated just outside the Victorian village of Rhodes in the Eastern Cape. It is located along the Bell River in the Southern Drakensberg known for its scenery. Each season has its own charm of winter snow, spring and summer with native flora. The incredible autumn colours transform the environment into a fairytale world.
Earl's Nest is a comfortable, spacious, 4-bedroom farmhouse. The 2 main bedrooms are equipped with a small kitchenette and can be rented separately for overnight guests. There are 2 rooms that share a bathroom with a shower, bath, toilet and basin. There is also a guest toilet for convenience. Linen and towels are supplied.
The communal facilities include indoor and outdoor braai facilities and a fireplace in the living room for the cold winters. The farm kitchen is well equipped with fridges, freezer, electric stove and as well as a microwave. Gas is available when needed. Bathrooms are equipped with gas geysers to prevent discomfort with load shedding.
Activities include 10 famous passes for motorcycle riders and 4x4 enthusiasts, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, flower viewing, bird watching, San rock art drawings and winter sports and skiing at Tiffendel, 20 km away. There are plenty of fly fishing opportunities with over 200 km of fishing waters. There are also many local artists who welcome visitors and present classes.
