Emilie's Garden Home is a lovely, spacious self-catering home in the beautiful tranquil suburb of Eastcliff. This delightful old family home was built in the early 1940s and has now been passed down by the family for 3 generations. The house has been sensitively renovated but retains the original Oregon floors, Oregon doors and a wonderful working fireplace.

The house can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a spacious living room and an open-plan dining room leading to a spacious well-equipped kitchen. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin and there is a lovely old stable door leading into the garden. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The third bedroom has a double brass bed and is adjacent to a separate bathroom with bath, toilet and basin.

The sunny living room is furnished with 2 Coricraft sofas, several armchairs, a fireplace, a flat-screen TV with Netflix, and complimentary fibre Wi-Fi. French doors lead to the indigenous waterwise garden. The spacious dining room has a big table with 6 chairs and a Welsh dresser and leads into the well-equipped kitchen, complete with Bosch fridge-freezer, Smeg gas stove, microwave, kettle, toaster and electric frying pan. There is a separate scullery with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble-dryer.

The house has a wraparound verandah, on 2 sides of the house. There is a big outdoor dining table with 6 chairs, a big sofa bed, and an enormous stainless-steel braai for outdoor living. The house is very child-friendly and boasts a treehouse, climbing frame and swing in the beautiful shady garden. Parents can relax on the sofa bed while keeping an eye on the children playing outside.

This charming older Hermanus home is within walking distance of the Old Town centre and the seafront. It is approximately a 7-minute walk to the Marine Tidal pool, the Old Harbour and the famous Hermanus Cliff Paths. All the Hermanus beaches and lagoon are in Voëlklip and are reached with a short 7 km drive, and Hoy’s Koppie and Fernkloof Nature Reserve, with its beautiful mountain trails, are only a short distance away. Guests can walk to the Hermanus Saturday Morning Market or drive to The Markie in Sandbaai. Hermanus High School, Hermanus Primary School, Generation School, sports fields and sport clubs are all within easy walking distance of the house.

The property is fully fenced with an electronic entrance gate, and has excellent security, with Trellidoor security gates and an armed response alarm system. There is off-street parking for 1 vehicle. The cottage is eco-friendly, complete with solar geyser, gas stove and well point for garden water.
