Ernadoon se Plek offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a semi-detached cottage in Suurbraak. The cottage is part of a residential property which borders the main road, opposite the Anglican Church, next to the local Xairu general dealer and the Buffeljags River. Enjoy the simple joys of living in a rural farming village with lovely views of the Langeberg mountains.
The accommodation is solar powered which means that it is not affected by loadshedding.
The cottage comprises of a large lounge and dining room with a 3-quarter day bed and a single bed, a private bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom and toilet, and a kitchen. The outside porch is the ideal spot from where guests can enjoy a sundowner and watch the Blue cranes and open-beaked storks fly overhead, while the Cape robin, mouse birds and various sunbirds forage the indigenous flowers and insects in the garden. The garden is shared with your hosts, who will be there to escort you to your accommodation and help you get settled. Guests have access to secure parking and Wi-Fi.
The beautifully situated village of Suurbraak, sheltered by giant oaks, lies at the foot of the Langeberg mountains on the southern end of the Tradouw Pass. The mountains are rich in fynbos and bird life, and cattle paths act as mountain trails for hikers, mountain bikers and bird watchers. Guided village and mountain walking tours are offered, while horse riding and cart rides remind visitors that time has stood still in Suurbraak. There are basic braai facilities alongside the river with spectacular pools.
