Description
Evergreen River Guest Farm is a privately owned farm on the banks of the Marico River, 9 km outside the small village of Groot Marico. The property is situated in the UNESCO-approved Marico Biosphere Reserve just a 2,5 hour drive from Gauteng.
This accommodation offers offroad or rooftop, caravan and tenting stays within 40m of the Marico River that flows through the farm. The camp is large and spacious, and set in a beautiful nature spot that offers peace and tranquillity. There is an undercover toilet, shower, and braai area.
There is no electricity at the camp, but there are solar lights and there is an electrical point 200m away to charge any appliances or equipment as well as a fridge-freezer.
Activities in the area include walking, hiking, cycling, canoeing, tubing, mountain biking, star gazing, bird watching, and indigenous tree spotting. Picnic spots are available at the river or at the Groot Marico Eye, 30 km away. The Groot Marico Eye also offers scuba diving, snorkelling, and swimming. Citrus picking is also available in the area when it is in season.
