Beautiful bush stay. The most amazing setting, with the chalets positioned well in the reserve, close to the pool and dam, with wildebeest and monkeys frequently passing near to the chalets. The nature reserve is full of animals, especially wildebeest and a variety of buck, and it is amazing to do a self-drive, hike in the reserve or take a guided night tour. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and I would highly recommend it for a breakaway from JHB/Pretoria. I would, however, suggest you do the trip with a high clearance vehicle as the roads are quite rough, especially if it rains.

Best camping experience, staff friendly and very helpful. We had a great stay, will definitely return again. This was our second time this year. Tebang the ranger at the camping section was very helpful and friendly. Love the animals that roam freely through the tent area.

Basic accommodation, but a nice place to rest. We were in a chalet, and it was very basic - old and run down, and not really comfortable. No one came in to clean in the 2 nights we were there. The steps up to the loft are terribly steep - I couldn't let my 8 year old sleep up there. We also only got 2 towels, even though we booked for 3 people, and don't think there is a hair dryer or a soap by the sink. I think it should be very nice in a tent or caravan, but if you are used to a little more comfort, then the chalet is disappointing. There is a children's play area, a bit shabby, but better than nothing. The pool was only green when we were there. The little shop really only sells candy and some basic necessities, but the people who work there are very friendly. The reserve itself is beautiful, with views for days, and it's very nice and quiet and fantastic for rest. The blue wildebeest and goats come very close to your house and you can go for a nice walk in the field. We don't have a 4x4 but were able to drive comfortably on the dirt roads without any problems.
