Forest Hills Taaibos Cottage is situated in Knysna and is an ideal spot for couples, families, and nature lovers to relax and unwind. The self-catering accommodation is set in private indigenous gardens and lawns that lead to the natural forest.
Taaibos Cottage is a historical 2-bedroom traditional thatched round house, comprising 3 joined rondavels. The cottage is privately positioned and comfy and features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. Guests share a separate bathroom fitted with a bath and shower.
The cottage's open-plan living area includes a lounge, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven, stove, microwave, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. From the large deck outside, guests can enjoy braai facilities and admire the lovely views of the indigenous forest and the Outeniqua mountains in the distance.
Facilities on the property include a swimming pool with a pool slide and a trampoline. Paths from the gardens lead to a short circular walk around the property, through forest, and fynbos, past a dam and a large lookout deck on the edge of the forest. If you are lucky you may spot bushbuck, boar, caracal, monkeys, and baboons that visit Forest Hills occasionally. The Knysna loerie can often be seen with a flash of red as it swoops along the forest edge, and at times the call of the fish eagle can be heard. Forest Hills is a birder's paradise.
Forest Hills Self-catering Cottages is conveniently positioned 16 km from Knysna and 20 km from Buffels Bay. The forest offers several day hikes and mountain bike tracks, as well as picnic spots along the river. Buffels Bay has a swimming beach and unspoiled stretches of coastline.
