Grootfontein Nature Reserve is a 1200-hectare Bushveld farm located 3 hours from Gauteng in the beautiful Limpopo Province, near the eco-tourism town of Thabazimbi. This working family farm welcomes all true lovers of the great African outdoors.

Camp Marula is perfect for self-catering camping enthusiasts who love to get away into the wilderness. As an eco-lodge we do not have electricity, guests enjoy hot paraffin showers, gas fridges and solar-powered lights - true off-the-grid living.

This property offers guests a choice of 4 campsites and each of the campsites can accommodate up to 16 guests at a time. Guests must bring along their own linen and towels. This property also has additional units on the premises.

Visitors enjoy tranquillity and a pristine, untouched Bushveld landscape that is home to a variety of birds and trees, and a wonderful range of animals. Since the farm does not offer the Big 5, guests are free to explore the area on foot.

In addition, we offer hiking, birding, 4x4 trails, and mountain biking, as well as themed weekends for mountain bikers, photographers and art lovers. We guarantee that your stay with us will leave you with fond memories that will remain with you for a long time after your stay at Grootfontein.
