Aasvoëlberg is the highest mountain in the district and is located on Gunsteling. The mountain is 2208 m above sea level and features bushman drawings, beautiful sandstone formations and unique vegetation. Aasvoëlberg is also known for high altitude training and is frequently used for the "Extreme Challenge", a mountain biking competition which is described as the most difficult challenge of its kind. Other on-site activities include hiking, cycling, 4x4 routes, fishing and birdwatching.
