Description
Situated on a Free State farm, Hermanus Cottage is located in a safe, fenced game camp that overlooks a dam.
The double-storey cottage can sleep 8 people with comfort, and is equipped for self-catering. The top floor has a private bedroom with 2 single beds, as well as an open-plan room with 2 single beds. The 2 rooms share the use of a bathroom with a bath and a toilet. Located downstairs, are 2 more rooms that are furnished with double beds, and these rooms share the use of a bathroom with a bath and a shower, and a separate toilet. Towels and linen are provided but guests please need to bring their own swimming towels.
The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped and offers a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a stove with oven, pots and pans, cutlery and crockery as well as a breakfast bar. The living area is equipped with a TV with a full selection of DStv channels and has a cosy indoor braai for the chilly winter nights. Free Wi-Fi is available. The house has an inverter for assistance during loadshedding. An outdoor braai area is located on the wooden deck, which overlooks the dam. There is a wooden jungly gym with a slide and swings next to the cottage. Firewood is provided. A cleaning service can be arranged on request.
A variety of game such as springbok, zebra, lechwe, waterbuck and ostrich can be seen and they frequently visit the cottage. Guests will also be able to see a variety of birds such as Egyptian geese, spur-winged goose, South African shelduck, yellowbilled stork, African Darter, and the chimney bird. The farm offers activities such as rowing, angling and swimming as well as walking, and cycling routes; guests needs to bring their own bicycles.
