Description
Highlanders Camp and Lodge is an operational farm conveniently situated in the scenic region of Namaqualand on the Cape-Namibia N7 Route. Nestled among the wine farms on the Olifants River, at the foot of the Cederberg mountain range in the Klawer wine region, this lodge offers a picturesque escape.
Highlanders Camp and Lodge provides guests with lovely campsites and luxury rooms. There are 12 air-conditioned en-suite rooms and 3 private campsites. The rooms are all individually styled and offer guests tea and coffee-making facilities. The campsites have shared solar-powered ablution facilities, a sheltered area with a sink and table tops for food preparation, and an electricity point at each site.
There is a wine bar on site that stocks most of the local wines, beers, and malts available. The bar has a swimming pool adjacent to it where guests can relax and enjoy the views over the valley.
Highlanders Camp and Lodge is built over 3 levels, with the prime position given to the licensed bar and swimming pool on the top level of the camp, offering breathtaking views of the wine farms and mountains. The bar is fully licensed and features a lovely mountain rock fireplace, which is a winner in the colder winter months, as well as a coin-operated pool table. Guests can also enjoy a unique wine and cheese tasting that incorporates 7 of the region’s finest wines, and catering for groups can be ordered in advance.
