Quiet and complete. An ideal road trip stopover. A wonderful find 500m from the N1. Nestled behind a hill, there is no road noise. The accommodation has been carefully restored with a modern bathroom that blends in. Everything needed for a stopover between Johannesburg and the Great Karoo is at hand. It's definitely my first choice for all future trips.

What an idyllic family farm where we could walk and watch animals for hours! In Hillside's Tree House, which we stayed in, there were three bedrooms with six beds and three bathrooms with a beautiful dining room and kitchen, and meals delivered to our table. The family's footprints have been on Hillside for over a century. We were not only amazed by the beautiful garden, but spent hours walking in all directions on the farm and taking pictures, also of the healthy sheep and stud cattle.
