Hythelands is situated on a dairy farm on the Hlatikulu Road, 10.4 km outside of Mooi River. Hythelands offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a self-contained, 3-bedroom home where guests can enjoy peace and tranquillity, as well as lovely views of the Drakensberg mountains in the distance.
The house can accommodate 8 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed, the second bedroom contains 2 single beds, and the third bedroom contains a double bed and a bunk bed. The house also comprises a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, stove, toaster, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery and crockery. There is a lounge area and a courtyard area with outdoor seating and braai facilities. There is a cosy fireplace in both the lounge and the kitchen, ideal for those cold winter nights. Firewood is provided for the first night. Netflix and Showmax are available.
Hythe Hideaway is a wooden log cabin that accommodates 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom contains 2 single beds, the second bedroom contains a double bed, and the third bedroom contains a queen-size bed. The cabin also comprises a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, stove, toaster, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery and crockery. There is a lounge and 1 bathroom. There is no WiFi or TV available with this unit. A verandah is used to connect all rooms.
The working farm is a busy commercial dairy farm, and because of this, tours and participation in farm activities can be accommodated. It is requested that all gates are to be kept closed to ensure animals are kept in their respective camps. Veld fires are a risk to the area and therefore a strict code of fire safety is adhered to. Pets are not permitted. At certain times of the year, an abundance of cranes, including blue, wattled and crowned, visit the farmlands. There are ample opportunities for walking, canoeing and cycling. The location offers access to Hartford House, Treverton College, Weston Agricultural High School, the Midlands Meander and Giants Castle.
