Disappointing waste of money. Would never recommend anyone to stay at Idwala Tides Beach front apartments in Umdloti and Ballito. The place was dirty, the shower didn't work, there were builders on the patio who didn't clean up after themselves after they were done. Why did we have to pay a breakage deposit to stay there? Good stay. But desperately needs owner's attention. Great sea view from the main bedroom. Great location. Spacious. Security on site all the time and very friendly. I do however have to add that the owner needs to visit the unit to see what needs urgent attention, as there were quite a lot of things that were broken, not working or neglected. I personally don't think the housekeeping gets done thoroughly. I also feel housekeeping should check and report things to the owner that need repairs, replacements or attention. The local maintenance guy was very friendly and helpful to fix some of the problems. However, I don't think it is fair to expect your guests to be on standby for the maintenance guy to come out to repair things, especially since there were quite a lot of things that needed attention. Someone came but failed to fix the problem until late Saturday. We got hot water then. We ate our breakfast at the beach because we had to check out before 9 am.
