Description
Imvula Game Lodge is a self-catering, rusting log cabin located on the banks of the Swartspruit river on a 130-hectare game farm, near the town of Carolina, Mpumalanga. It is close to Johannesburg and Pretoria and makes for a great weekend getaway. Enjoy game viewing, hiking trails, fishing in the 3 dams that are available or just doing nothing.
The lodge has 6 bedrooms and can accommodate 10 people comfortably. There are 4 rooms upstairs, 2 double rooms and 2 single rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Downstairs is made up of 2 double bedrooms which share a bathroom.
The kitchen is well-equipped and features a gas stove, oven, fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. The lounge has a fireplace which lends itself to cosy evenings by the fire with a bottle of wine, or to sit around as a family with board games. A wrap around verandah with views of the river completes the offerings of the lodge.
There is plenty of firewood to keep the built-in fireplace stoked as well as an outdoor boma and firepit to enjoy some stargazing. The river runs for about 2 km through the farm. The farm offers some great hiking opportunities and for the more adventurous who want to bring their mountain bikes with can tackle some of the mountain trails on their bikes.
The farm manager is available for emergencies 24 hours per day and the unit is serviced as well for a fee. The farm is only an hours drive from Dullstroom where you can enjoy the heritage sites that this small town has to offer. Only a 30 minutes drive will take guests to Forever Resorts Badplaas which offers plenty of fun activities for the whole family.
