Kandelaars Cottage is a self-catering farmhouse located off the R328 highway, situated approximately 10 km from Oudtshoorn on a working ostrich farm. The cottage is tucked away, just far enough to have the countryside feel, yet it is easily accessible for guests to and from their desired destinations. Kandelaars Cottage is lovingly restored; the surroundings of hilltops, the Kandelaars River, the neighbouring farmlands and ostrich farms, all add to this quaint cottage’s unmistakable charm.
This furnished home can accommodate 8 guests and comprises 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed and features a shower en-suite bathroom; the second bedroom has a bunk bed with a shower en-suite bathroom, and the third and fourth bedrooms each have 2 single beds with a shower en-suite bathroom.
The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped and contains the necessary appliances to prepare and cook meals. The lounge has wicker furniture and leads out to the verandah, which offers lovely views of the area to admire. At the back of the house, there is a braai facility for guests to make use of. Parking is available for vehicles.
The nature lover and outdoor enthusiast can enjoy hiking and biking trails through the untouched Karoo landscapes, where bird life and small antelope are in abundance around the house. The cottage was designed to be enjoyed by guests old and young, for a relaxing holiday, weekend getaway or a quick sleepover.
