Very good. Karoo Manor Guest House was a great stopover from Johannesburg to Cape Town. I highly recommend it, and we hope to return to this lovely town for another visit.

An absolute gem in the Karoo! We absolutely loved our stay at the Karoo Manor Guest House in Richmond! Our hosts gave us such a warm welcome that we felt like we were old friends. Our room was across the road from the reception and restaurant and was very quaint and comfortable. There is plenty of space to park your car safely behind the restaurant and it was clear that safety is a priority. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We slept extremely well! You must have dinner at the restaurant as the food is delicious and such good value. All ingredients are fresh and seasonal and there are a few Karoo favourites included in the menu. It was a warm evening and so we had dinner outside under the grapevines, which are 160 years old. It was magical sitting there. The hosts are very friendly and are available to chat about the area and the history behind the hotel. You must chat about the licensed bar which used to be a horse stable. They have retained some of the original structure such as the horse feed which is made from stinkwood. I am certain that we will visit again, but this time we will stay for more than one night as there is a lot to explore in what seems like a small dorp, but is actually a gem with many interesting points of interest and such friendly people.
