Apologies for any inconvenience. I have spoken to our manager about what happened during your stay.
1) Mostly, our guests compliment us for the gas water heater and rain shower heads. Apologies that your experience was not the same during your stay. We have immediately attended to the hot water issue and sorted it out, so there is hot water now. We hope that you had a lovely stay otherwise. We would be happy to offer you a complementary night stay when you book your next holiday with us. Please do contact me directly about that and I will organise it.
2) I was told that the whole of Elands Bay didn't have any electricity during your stay and it wasn't our home that had the issues.
We aim to have a solar system in place, however it was not financially viable to do so for the size of the property at the moment.
That is why we have supplied a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for internet emergencies of 2 hours, as well as a gas stove, gas water heater, plus portable and rechargeable lights and candles like other holiday homes, but we will look into the inverter.
3) We are happy to share some exciting new additions to our Kon Tiki main house with you. We are using these winter days to build a closed-off balcony entertainment area with a pizza oven, keeping guests comfort and better experiences at our home in mind, especially for family and group holidays.
