Kransplaas is situated in the heart of the Great Karoo, in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. This working farm is located 18 km from the historic town of Graaff-Reinet. Kransplaas is an ideal overnight stopover for long-distance travellers or a getaway to rest, relax, refresh and recharge.
Accommodation is offered in Nyala Lodge which can accommodate 8 people and Springbok Cottage sleeps 4 people.
The Nyala Lodge comprises 4 bedrooms, 4 en-suite bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. The lounge has a comfy lounge suite and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with selected DStv channels. The living area opens up onto a wraparound verandah which has outdoor patio furniture, an outdoor dining set, and braai facilities.
The Springbok Cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 1 bedroom with 2 en-suite bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The kitchenette is equipped with heat-and-eat facilities. The dining area has seating space for 4 people, while the lounge has a comfy lounge suite and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with selected DStv channels. The living area opens up onto a lovely patio area that has outdoor patio furniture, a picnic table, and braai facilities. The patio overlooks a boma area with a pit fire.
The surrounding area offers a wide range of activities that include guided walks, birdwatching, stargazing, and clay target shooting. For those wanting to visit the surrounding areas, Nieu-Bethesda, well known for the Owl House Museum, is 68.6 km away.
