Description
Kula Malaika Foundation Farm Village offers a self-catering cottage and Wendy house-built dormitories and is situated on the Seven Passes Road, approximately 16.3 km outside the town of Hoekwil, which is 30 km inland from Wilderness. The Seven Passes Road is well-known for mountain biking and 4x4 trails from Wilderness to Knysna
Tanganyika can accommodate 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first and second bedrooms are each furnished with a double bed and there is an area with a bunk bed. The bathroom is fitted with a toilet and a gas-heated shower. The kitchen contains a fridge, a microwave, and an oven to prepare and cook meals. The open-plan living and dining area leads out to the deck, which has outdoor seating. Parking is available in front of the cabin.
Timbaktu is a simple Wendy house-built that accommodates up to 2 guests, furnished with a double bed. This unit has an outdoor shared shower, kitchen and ablutions.
The farm itself is a life skills training village with operating projects, such as our upcycled African experience bush cafe, campsite for those who love camping, after-school care centre and crèche for local farm kids, wood, jewellery and crafts, and organic gardening. There is also a craft shop where guests can buy locally-made products.
The management team welcomes guests to visit or stay on the simple-built rural farm and help contribute toward the farm and community-based projects.
