The Langkloof Gallery And Sculpture Garden Cottages are situated on a beautiful fruit and sheep farm in the Klein Karoo, close to Uniondale.
These unique accommodation facilities are in a private space in the large indigenous garden. Birdsong, peace and beauty abound. Jackals howl in the summer evenings, owls serenade you to sleep. The farm is situated between the Outeniqua and the Kammanassie mountain ranges, one of the most diverse biomes in South Africa, with Cape Leopard, aloes, fynbos and succulents. It is ideal for guests looking for a stopover, en route to various attractions in the area, or those wanting to relax and be spoilt in a peaceful magical space. The gravel roads around are wonderful for mountain biking, so bring your bicycles along.
Although there is no Wi-Fi, there is excellent Vodacom reception so guests can bring their own routers.
Melkstal Cottage is furnished with a double bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, and a gas two-plate stove. There is an outdoor covered braai area, shared with The Blue Room.
The Blue Room is furnished with 2 single beds that can be placed together and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, a basin a toilet and a shower. This unit is equipped with a small fridge as well as tea-and-coffee-making facilities. There is an outdoor covered braai area, shared with Melkstal Cottage.
The Langkloof Gallery exhibits Sheena Ridley's sculptures in the gardens, and a view into the host’s art studio where there are oil paintings, pastels, and smaller sculptures. It is only 500 m from the N9/R62, but hidden from the road and accessible by all vehicles.
A two-course home-made dinner is offered at an additional cost per person only by prior arrangements. This can be served alfresco undercover at the main house, at the gallery or at your unit.
