Laniakea @ Mjejane Private Game Reserve is situated in the Mjejane Private Game Reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. It combines elements of wood, thatch, glass, and screed floors to create a comfortable and homely atmosphere. This classic Botswana-style lodge is known for its abundant birdlife, with over 340 bird species documented in this game-rich area. Laniakea @ Mjejane Private Game Reserve offers a true home away from home experience for nature enthusiasts, whether you love the bush, birdwatching, ungulates, or the Big 5.
This self-catering lodge accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 separate en-suite bedrooms. These bedrooms are connected by a deck walkway, providing both individual privacy in the bedrooms and a cosy communal space for socialising and dining in the main lodge and on the deck. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. The second bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower. The third bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower. The fourth bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It extends to the lounge furnished with comfy couches and a TV with a full selection of DStv channels. The adjacent dining room has a lovely dining table and chairs and features a cosy fireplace.
The covered deck boasts a beautiful view of nature overlooks the river and offers seating space for guests, perfect for a sundowner. Just down the stairs of the patio guests can enjoy a lovely braai and to the left side of the patio guests can relax in the plunge pool.
There is no self-drive allowed on Mjejane Reserve however, 3-hour game drives can be booked at an additional cost with an accredited FGASA nature guide in an open safari vehicle.
