Description
Laughing Forest Bush Lodge is situated in Elysium on KwaZulu-Natal’s South Coast and offers comfortable self-catering or B&B accommodation nestled among coastal dune forest. The tranquility of the resort combined with the sea nearby lends itself to quiet time and long walks on the beach.
The 6-acre property on which the Laughing Forest is situated, is home to birds, monkey’s, mongoose’s, and other wildlife. Accommodation is offered in a choice of 5 Family self-catering log cabins and 5 Double Rooms and 2 Twin Rooms, which are scattered among the indigenous bush. Each air conditioned Family cabin can accommodate 5 guests in 1 double bed, 1 single bed and 1 bunk bed. Each cabin comprises a main en-suite bedroom, and an open-plan kitchen and lounge. The lounge leads onto a sun deck. Each kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, a freezer, a microwave, a mini oven, and a kettle and toaster. Braai facilities are also available at the cabin.
The Double or Twin rooms have either twin beds or a double bed, with a bathroom en-suite. These rooms can either include or exclude breakfast. All Double and Twin Rooms share a small kitchen which has a fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. Braai facilities are also available at these units.
Guests are required to bring their own beach/swimming towels. The resort offers a swimming pool, with a communal braai and fire pit area. TV with Open View is offered only in certain cabins. DSTV is available in the Bar area.
Activities in the area include sea fishing, whale watching, snorkeling, body boarding, surfing, and cycling. It only takes a couple of minutes to walk onto the beach sand. There are tidal pools situated to the east and west of the resort’s location.
