Lemoenfontein lies in the heart of the Karoo, against a backdrop of the majestic Nuweveld mountain range with views over Beaufort West and the vast Karoo plains. Set in the vast expanse of the South African Great Karoo, this beautiful homestead/lodge dates back to 1850. Built slowly and soundly to the exacting standards and architectural style of the time, the building remains unchanged with characteristic high ceilings, original wooden floors and wide verandahs which offer guests a sweeping panoramic view of the Karoo landscape.
Once used as a private hunting lodge, today boasts comfortable farm style bedrooms and wide verandahs.
Mouthwatering Karoo dinners are served either on the verandah in the summer or in the dining room, with a cosy log fire, in the winter. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks around the honesty bar in the lounge, which has a cosy fireplace for the chilly winter nights. Relax and unwind at the sparkling swimming pool. Abundant indigenous birdlife and walks for the energetic.
All accommodation leads out onto wide verandahs. Comfortable en-suite bedrooms have heaters, fans, air-conditioning, safes, hairdryers, tea trays, satellite television and some have fireplaces. Modern comforts like air conditioners and wall heaters have been added. Swimming pool and braai (barbeque) facilities cater for up to 30 people.
Small conferences, Special Occasions and Weddings are also catered for. Hiking and 4x4 trails. Pets by arrangement.
