Situated high up on the foothills with panoramic views sweeping down the valley all the way to Table Mountain and the setting sun, and drifting across to the distant ocean and the Cape of Good Hope. The magnificent Stellenbosch mountains, turning pink in the sunset, form Longfield House's protective backdrop.
Two unique charming cottages in a glorious setting surrounded by mountains, vineyards and an olive grove complete the picture of this tiny gem of an olive farm. Each cottage offers luxury and homely self-catering accommodation in an ambience exuding tranquillity and peacefulness. Each cottage can accommodate 2 guests and is stylish and comfortably decorated in a relaxed country-house style with an eclectic mix of furniture, pictures and books.
The Stables and Woodshed cottages are situated up the hill from the owner's house and a short amble to the swimming pool set in the olive grove. A paddock separates the 2, ensuring privacy for each cottage with parking for your car next to each cottage. Covered verandahs are furnished with big chairs and a table for perfect outside living any time of day with more pool loungers in their private gardens for soaking up the warmth of the sun. The cottages are both fully equipped with everything you need, including a fireplace for those cosy, chilly evenings.
The owners, Pieter and Nini, offer a warm and knowledgeable welcome. Having farmed wine, now olives, and written books on gardens and houses, they are always on hand to help and advise on where to go, what to see, and what to miss. Internationally acclaimed wine farms, amazing award-winning restaurants, numerous renowned golf courses, beautiful gardens including a famous sculpture garden, historic architecture and vibrant markets are just a few minutes away. The historic town of Stellenbosch is 10 minutes away.
